Jill Ozarski Kicks Off Denver City Council Campaign with Former U.S. Senator Mark Udall

More than 100 local residents gathered in Washington Park as Ozarski, the fastest candidate to qualify for Denver's Fair Elections Fund in her district, launched her bid for City Council District 6.

Denver, CO — On Sunday, September 27th Jill Ozarski officially launched her campaign for Denver City Council District 6 alongside former U.S. Senator Mark Udall. More than 70 Denverites, their families, community leaders, and supporters joined the kickoff at Washington Park to hear Ozarski's vision for a Denver that is affordable, safe, and livable for the families who call it home.

The launch builds on the campaign's early momentum. Ozarski was the fastest candidate in District 6 to qualify for Denver's Fair Elections Fund, recruiting more than 100 Denver donors in about three weeks.

"I am proud to support Jill’s campaign for Denver City Council because I have seen Jill get things done. Be it working to get a national monument designation for Browns Canyon to spending a decade protecting our rivers and Denver’s water supply, Jill is committed to working to make a lasting impact on people's lives," said former U.S. Senator Mark Udall.

“I want to show my girls what leadership should look like: that when you care about something, you step up, roll up your sleeves, and take action. I am ready to be a mom in leadership and model how to listen, bring people together, work through hard problems, and make things better. That is what I will bring to City Council: less yelling, more listening. And a real focus on building hope for the future through action we can see and feel on the ground, in our city,” said Jill Ozarski, candidate for Denver City Council District 6.

A Denver resident of nearly 25 years, Ozarski lives in Cory-Merrill with her husband, who grew up in the district, and their two young daughters, who attend neighborhood public schools. Raised by a Detroit family with generations of manufacturing roots, she has spent two decades in public service and policy work. She served on Senator Udall's staff, spent a decade in environmental philanthropy focused on the Colorado River and communities across the Southwest, and now advises nonprofits on water, wildfire, parks, and open space policy. Her community service includes serving on Denver Public Schools budget and finance committees, Girl Scouts of Colorado, and the Colorado Conservation Easement Oversight Commission, and chairing the Colorado Recreational Trails Committee, which awarded more than $50 million to outdoor recreation projects statewide.

The Denver municipal election is April 6, 2027. Learn more about Jill's campaign at jillfordenver.com.
